We (my husband and I) took the first week as a sort of "learning the ropes" attempt.  It took me a while to get the hang of making the shakes, and we realized that we ONLY can drink the shakes if we make them using the CHOCOLATE flavored rice protein powder - ordinary flavor tasted pretty dull.

 I think you sort of need to walk through this program a few days, and be lenient with yourself, before you get the ideas and get into a rhythm.

 We were following the Detox week as well as doing the Detox in a Box program for the week.  I am the designated "morning person," and BOY, do you need to have a morning person to do the full Detox in a Box morning regimen!  My husband is barely conscious in the mornings (he's a night owl, though!) so I had to fiddle with when I would consider it breakfast time, and it's a lot easier to go through the supplements and shakes and so on, at the same time, than to try and juggle two different schedules.  As much as possible, I would definitely be careful about schedules of meetings and work when doing this Detox.

 I made an egg dish one evening and then realized that eggs are not to be eaten; some of the foods we're not to eat during Detox week are hard for me to logically understand, so shopping was kind of a pain.  I tried taking the Box lists with me, and I tried making my shopping list up from the UM book, and I just think you have to have tried this once before you can really do it "for real."  I still do not really know which grains are okay and which aren't supposed to be eaten -- why isn't barley good, for example?

 Others have mentioned that it's good to read and REread the book and I think that I agree.  We are going to do that before trying the Detox again -- this time knowing much better how to do things and what we need to put meals together.
