Doing the UltraSimple Diet
I'm in week two of USD (along with my husband), and we're getting pretty bored with the same foods over and over again (even though I've included as much variety as I could figure out). You said that we could start into week 2 of the Ultrametabolism diet.
Here are my questions, though. I have the book, and it says that corm, citrus and nightshades are acceptable in UM, but in the transition out of USD, it says not to start eating these foods until two wees after the USD (which would be week 3), and then to add slowly and one at a time (p. 188 USD).
I'm very confused here. I have irritable bowel syndrome with constipation, and since I started the USD I have had NO problems, and I am regular for the first time in my memory. I don't want to miss what was irritating me by starting too quickly on possible allergens.
So, please should I follow the USD book or the UM book? I love how I feel, but I'd like to get into something I can live with forever (UM). Sorry for the long post, but I want to make sure we're on the same page, so to speak. :)
Thanks!
Judy

This is general medical information only. For analysis, diagnosis and prescriptions, consult your doctor or other medical professional.
I would recommend that you begin the transition to expand your diet to Phase 1 Ultrametabolism. I think if you continue to include the ground flaxseed and high vegetable intake along with a dairy and gluten restriction, you will continue to do great. You can add the corn, citrus and nightshades allowing at least 3 days between introductions so you can determine if these items are truly problematic.
