Currently beginning UltraMetabolism
Not yet begun the UltraSimple Diet
I will be finishing detox Sunday and starting the next phase Monday, and reintroducing foods and I have a couple of questions.
1) Why does Dr. Hyman believe in limiting dairy? He says in the UM book that many people are allergic or sensitive to it and many do not even realize it. That was the only reasoning I remember from my reading. But, if we go through the detox phase and reintroduce it without negative symptoms, AND we buy organic products, is there a reason to limit dairy consumption? Normal for me before the UM diet was 5 - 10 servings per week (not the 3 per day food pyramid figure he uses in the book). Would that be considered "limited" consumption?
2) Would black tea be acceptable? Green tea is allowed. They are the same plant and have similar antioxidant properties and both contain caffiene. Being able to have iced tea at a restaurant or home would be a nice beverage addition since they are pretty limited on UM. If no, please explain why not, so I can understand.
Thanks for your help. I have been having sucess on this plan, losing weight and feeling better, so I don't want to screw it up. But, I also do not want to be overly restrictive and miss out on things I enjoy needlessly.
