Has anyone else introduced something back into their diet inadvertantly and gotten stomach cramping?
I have felt better than ever in my life these last 4 weeks and have had no joint pains, acne has cleared up, bloatedness is gone, on and on. Today I vegetarian sushi made w/ brown rice and using soy sauce to dip in.
After getting stomach cramping and just generalized stomach ache I went back and was looking up what could be offender. Soy sauce contains gluten. Is it possible to have that kind of reaction from having it?

I can not eat soy sauce or I'll have similar pain in my stomach. It could also be the yeast from fermentation, because I react with pain to anything with vinager. However, I can use a small amount of liquide aminos, which is gluten free and taste similar to soy sauce. I am not sure how it fits with this program, but it is healthy, made from soy protein, and adds flavor to food, so I use it.
I use it to make "fried rice" with brown rice and vegs, or "sobo noodles" with brown rice pasta and vegs. I add meat to both dishes for variety. Just saute everthing in a pan with olive oil and spray with the liquid aminos.
FYI, you can purchase it at your health food store, where they stock the soy sauce.

Definitely. In fact, when I go for sushi, I bring my own bottle of gluten-free soy sauce in my purse!
Two options:
1. Tamari sauce - I use San J's Lite Tamari Organic Soy Sauce. You can get it in the Health Foods section of some grocery stores, or at a health food store. It's inspected by the Gluten Free Certification Organization
2. Bragg's All Purpouse Liquid Soy Seasoning (amino acids refered to in other post). A great alternative to Soy Sauce and gluten free. I got mine at a health food store.
These alternatives are so good, you won't miss soy sauce at all.
