Beginning week 2 - any advice for me?

Hi all!  Well, I'm starting the detox phase!  Just wondering if you have some advice for the new-bee?  What's lead to your successes (or failures)??

Advice? Stick it out and journal, journal, journal. You will never remember everything no matter how hard you try. And you want to record all the little successes that you might forget about in a week or two when it's now become normal. (ie the first time you wake up in the morning not feeling tired, or stuffed up or...)

Spend some time finding

Spend some time finding local resources for gluten-free, sugarless, etc products.

Be creative with the "enjoy" list of foods vs following all the recipes in the book.

Plan ahead, take food with you if you have to, and make large batches of favorite recipes that freeze well into single-serving sizes.  Instant brown rice does exist and I prepared it with low sodium organic broth in large batches to have as an effortless side dish.   

Relax and enjoy the journey.

I've just completed week one, preparing for week two, detox.  I've already cut out alot of sugar and stopped drinking anything with caffeine.  I already feel better.  I've tried some of the recipes in the UltraMetabolism book and my family has enjoyed some of them as well.  We love the berriest smoothie.  I look for ways to change current recipes with foods I know I can have.  My family is also being very supportive.  They are making changes in their eating habits also.  Be positive with each day.  Smile
