Hello all! I am brand new to this program and plan to start the prep phase this Sunday! I am very excited to start this program but still a little confused. For the prep phase do I have this right:

Rules:

  1. Eat Often
  2. Eat Breakfast
  3. Eat Slowly
  4. Eat a light Dinner
  5. Don't eat less than two hours before bed time
  6. practice some form of relaxtion technique 2/3 times a week
  7. 30 - 60 min of aerobic excercise every day
  8. Drink 6 - 8 glasses of filtered water
  9. Eat organic whenever possible
  10. Eat every three hours

And especially for week 1

  1. Remove Caffeine,
  2. Remove White and wheat flour
  3. Remove sugar
  4. Remove HFCS
  5. Remove all trans fats
  6. Remove all processed and packaged foods
  7. Remove alcohol

From your diet

Also I should include a protein for breakfast combined w/ a good fat

 Do I have this all right?? I am not used to a diet with such freedoms1

Hi Engimommy, welcome to the program.  I don't know why you haven't received an answer.  I, myself, was a little overwhelmed with your grasp of everything and thinking--we sure were not that cognizant when we started the program--maybe that is why we spent weeks in the pre-diet mode.  You didn't say what regimen you were on so don't know if the ultrasimple will be a walk in the park or not.  I found that cleaning out the pantry was much easier after we had been on the program for a month or so.  It is a real culture shock to remove all those "old family favorites and recipe shortcuts." We never used them after we started the program but just couldn't bring myself to get rid of them until we saw the results and then I couldn't wait to clean them out.   The protein at breakfast is the protein in the soymilk or tofu or almond milk or nut butters in the shake.  The hardest thing was reading all the labels--you will not believe what sugars and additives are in everything we eat.  Just yell if you have any questions.  Mama Foodie

Thank you so much for your help!  I am attempting to do the Ultra Metabolism diet. And yes I am a little scared about giving up the sugar. The rest - I can do. I will miss my coffee but I can do it.

 

So it looks like I am on the right track then?? My co-worker and I are going to do this together. We both need to lose 20 pounds and keep it off!!

I kind of did a week prep before I started the ultrasimple diet. I followed most o fthe guidlines that you listed above but I have to admit that I cheated alot. During that week I lost 2 lbs! Now that I am on the diet I have been good. It is now day 5 and I have high hopes of losing 27 pounds in the next month or two and keeping it off. How is it going for you?

Also, it is great that you are doing it with a friend. It is really helpful to have someone to encourage you and keep you on track. I am doign it with my mom though she is only doing it for the health benefits ( she has actually lost more weight than me). I have also had to tell some of my closer friends about the diet so that they will not offer me forbidden foods or be offended when I won't do Timmy's with them. Ciao
