My Fiance and I are getting started.
We've made it through day one, of week one. We're looking forward to the challenge and excited about improving our health and dropping some pounds.
We tried the Amaranth today for the first time. liked it!

Made it through weeks 2-4, and feeling better.

Well, I've made it through weeks 2 - 4, successfully and without any cheating. I have to tell you, I'm siked! My weight going into week 2 was 283, after week 4 its 272. I've lost an inch around my waist and 1.5 inches around my hips.
The part that is really exciting to me is that it does'nt really feel that much like I'm dieting. My meals pre-ultrametabolism already included a great deal of whole foods, but I also ate a lot of simple sugars, wheat bread and white flour/rice. So, I've replaced white rice with brown/wild rice, and removed bread, and flour altogether because its phase one. I guess the biggest changes (or what I'm missing most) is my coffee (of course with half & half and sugar) in the morning, and an occasional alcoholic beverage at the end of the day, or even a bowl of ice cream after dinner. But hey! If it means I feel this much better, I can go without those things.
I plan on reincorporating whole grain bread instead of wheat bread once I finish with phase one.
Just wanted to share. I wish I had found this book/site/way of thinking a long time ago.
