Hi.  :)

 

I've had the book for a few months but never really got started on the "plan".  Complicating things is the fact that my husband has been put on anticoagulants which really throws my menu planning into a tailspin (no leafy greens, no broccoli *sigh*).  Anyway, I'm going to skim through the book again this weekend and try to get up on the wagon with Week 1 starting on Monday.  I'm carrying around 15 extra pounds and can't seem to take them off.  I'd also just like to feel healthier.

 

The only thing to it is to do it, I suppose.   Surprised

Check in here for moral support whenever you need to.  Several of us just finished the Detox and are in Phase II.

With a bit of maneuvering around the veggies a bit, you will have no problem as this whole foods diet is best for both you and your husband.

Every time I go to buy something, I find out that it's high in Vitamin K. We've had to make some interesting changes. Alfalfa sprouts or shredded zucchini on tacos instead of lettuce, etc. I guess it'll become second nature after a while. At least I hope so. :)

Yes- any new nutritional intervention has a learning curve

just started the ultra simple plan last sunday, i have lost five pounds so far ,it hasnt been easy but I am feeling much better. I have an auto-immune disease and I really believe the lowering of inflamation in my body is key. I am excited to continue while slowly adding back some foods as chicken brown rice and steamed vegies is getting old:)  any tasty suggestions?

I finished the UltraSimple Diet last Saturday, lost 6 pounds and 2 inches off my waist and hips.  I probably have about 15-20 more to lose.

For someone who does not like regimen, I was able to follow this program and the time went by rather quickly.  My key was to buy the food so that I didn't have to think.  I told my husband he was "on his own" and I made sure there was room in my frig for my meals. 

I believe that if you "just do it", whether you buy the meals or make them, you will become a believer and figure out how to do it long term without jeopardizing your husband's health.

Hello,

The junk food in our family goes in the cupboard with the canned goods, etc. I don't even want to go near that cupboard so I have some dollar store wash basins on a counter which I am filling with the food for the UltraSimple Diet which I will start this coming Tuesday. The wrong food will be out of sight and the good food in plain view. Right now I am in the middle of my preparation week and it is going well.
