Doing the UltraSimple Diet
Hello! I wanted to send out some encouragement to those of you starting the UltraSimple Diet.
I lost 4 pounds during the elimination week. Then I went to Whole Foods and bought all organic everything and cooked up the veggie broth which is better than I imagined. I have eaten only what is on the diet and barely that. I am full most of the time. Only one shake in the morning, two broths in the day, etc. I am doing the enhanced version so I am also taking the probiotics and liver cleanse plus the yoga and walking everyday.
I want to say that I am in day 4 and I have lost 3 more pounds so far. That is 7 total. And I still have 3 days to go. But this isn't about losing weight for me, this is about getting healthy. I generally eat a healthy diet, mostly organic and I have a vegetable/fruit garden in my backyard but I am a sucker for chocolate and french fries... I have had zero cravings for them while doing the UltraSimple Diet.
I got the UltraMetabolism book last summer and lost about 20 pounds by using Dr. Hyman's suggestions and incorporating Super Foods. But stress caught up with me and even though I am certified to teach yoga, I stopped all exercise last fall and stopped eating well; guess what happened... I gained 30 pounds! So here I am, more determined than ever to stay healthy forever! I am 41 and tired of feeling old. :)
So my advice to those interested is to stay focused on how you want to feel, look, be and not about what you can't have. If your broth tastes bad, then change it - if your shakes taste bad - try another version. This is not a diet but a lifestyle and to be successful, you need to really want to change your lifestyle.
One last thing; to change your results (which is what we all want and why we are all here in the first place), you need to change how you think about things. Your subconscious mind won't accecpt new ideas if you continue to think and act in the same way. Therefore, you need to have complete buy in that this is not a diet but a lifestyle change and make the decision and commitment that you are willing to do whatever it takes to make the change. Then do it. Take action and stay true to the diet. Learn how to eat better and stay away from vending machines!! :)
Ok - I have stepped off my soapbox!!
Have a fantabulous day!!!

what soap box?

Doing the UltraSimple Diet
Well, I completed my week on Saturday, May 3rd and I lost 10 pounds. Today is May 6th and I have lost an additional 2 pounds. I stayed on the diet. Tomorrow, I am headed to a fasting cleanse retreat that I booked over 6 months ago having no idea I was going to do this so what a jumpstart to my retreat. I am still feeling great. I had a little constipation and tried an herbal tea that did not work so I resorted to a Fleet enema and even that didn't work. Then two days ago I had no energy and was really cranky so I went to Whole Foods and picked up an herbal tablet laxative and it worked - now I feel great again!!! It is really amazing when you are tuned into your body. My goal is to lose at least 60 pounds. I was always thin until my mid twenties when I had children back to back. I just gained weight on top of weight and I had no idea how to lose it because I had never had a weight problem before. Now, I understand and am determined to get back to a healthy size for my physical self and psyche. I am a thin person trapped in a fat suit!! But no more!
Woo-Hoo - I love Dr. Hyman!!! Thank you for showing me the way.
