I have been doing some research in the Prescription for Natural Healing, by Phyllis A Balch, which is a wonderful reference for healing of all types of medical situations. I just bought my third copy, one being a children's edition.

Anyway to the point, one of my favorite parts of the detox program is the ultra bath. In the book's section for fybromyalgia, it is recommended to add 4-6oz of ginger powder into bath to help promote sweating and remove toxins. I think I will use this in addition to the salt and baking soda, but I am not sure about the fragrance combination with the lavender so I may omit it. Instead of the ginger powder (messy), I will use fresh ginger slices in a piece of cheese cloth and steep like tea or I actually have ginger tea that might work.

Thought someone might like to try this. You may also enjoy a cup of marshmellow root tea to cleanse the kidneys while you soak. Enjoy.

This sounds very

This sounds very interesting.  I'm going to have to give it a try.  I have some shoulder pain that it should help.  Thanks for the information.

Hey mom45,

I'm gonna give you the actual instructions for the bath, but I wanted to acknowledge that we have the same birthday, even the same year. Pretty cool huh? Anyway...

For the bath: Add two cups epsom salt, one cup baking soda, and 10 drops of lavender oil to bath water that is as hot as you can tolerate. Soak for 20 minutes.

For extra detox benefits, wrap yourself in a blankets for another 20 minutes to sweat out more toxins. Their is no need to shower afterward.

In addition to the bath you can also take a sauna or steam bath for up to 30 minutes a day. I have not done the sauna but I really enjoy the bath.

You have plenty of time to buy your supplies and try the bath tonight.              Plesant dreams.

UltraBath Thanks

Hey mhall24,

Thanks for the recipe.  I won't get to it tonight as I got sidetracked earlier and didn't get back to the computer unitl later.  I've got everything except the lavender oil.  Will get that tomorrow.  Will also look for some ginger.

How cool to find someone with the same birthday on the message board.  At dinner tonight I told my family how much better I was already feeling after just 4 days of eating better.  I have two teenage daughters who are making some changes, just not as much as me.  They are also feeling better.

Thanks again!
