I have been loosing weight, have had anxiety and have had an overactive sex drive. I went to the doctor and my tsh levels were a 10 the first time and a 6.450 the second time. My anti-peroxidase AB is 4554.0 which is supposed to be between 0-60. My Anti-thyroglobulin AB is 154.4 and it is supposed to be between 0-60. I'm so confused! Why am I having all of the opposite symptoms? In the morning I wake-up full of energy and can't even fall back asleep. I hate taking any medication and eat really healthy. I excercise all of the time. Is there anything I can do so that I will not have to go on meds? Please help me! Mareebe

Recently I have learned a lot about hormone levels. which are in a constant flux. Until we are in full menopause, we can be all over the charts and then we hit the bottom and get only a minimal supple from our adrenal gland that are often burnt out from all the stress of life.
My consultant at my health food store recommended the book Sexy Hormones by Lorna R. Vanderhaeghe, MS and Alvin Pettle, MD that addresses all of our primary hormones, glands and the symptoms. Both of the authors have web sites, but unfortunately My Favorites has been refreshing and knocking out some sites so I do not have their link. Vanderhaeghe has several radio broadcast that have been recorded that you can listen to. This book is a must read for all women, even teens (if you can get them to take the time), but young women and more mature women will benefit from this knowledge. I refer to my "bible" often and continue to make adjustments as needed in my supplements. I do feel better and I sleep better too.
They recommend several supplements for specific symptoms and compounded formulas for multiple benefits. One other issue is the testing method, most doctors use blood test but saliva is more accurate. My store sell them too if you want to test yourself. If I had to guess I would look into treating your adrenal gland and thyroid with their compounded formulas, but refer to the book. I have three stores in my general area and all of them carry at least one or two of these product, but you can order on line through their site. This is a symptom based process and takes a little patience and time.
One day at a time to a healthier life.

From your symptoms listed it sounds like you are HyPERthyroid (but your TSH should be below normal) - did you have your Free T3 and Free and/or total T4 taken?
