Planning on starting the UltraSimple diet within the week but I do not
have a bath tub. Is there any alternatives? Will I still see results without the Ultrabath?

I wonder...

... if a footbath would be better than nothing.
We do exude a lot of toxins through the feet, and though it wouldn't be as relaxing and wonderful as the bath (are you sure you can't beg a friend to use their tub and then sleep over? ;-) ) it might be somewhat beneficial. The lavendar oil would still relax you and you might get some of the benefits of detox.
When I was on a different program, I was advised to start my clay detox baths by doing foot baths only at first until I got used to it, so I'm sure you would get something out of it.

It was prescribed for me by a naturopathic doctor. He took my test results and determined which bath would be best.
Because it can be very powerful, I'm not sure I would feel comfortable recommending just anything. Also, the kind of clay bath I got he had to order. The company wouldn't send it to me as I was not a ND.
I've actually dropped the clay baths in exchange for the Ultrabath. Less messy on my tub, for one! :)

Thanks for your feedback. I does sound messy. I will see if they offer it at a spa.

A hot shower might help, too. That can be very relaxing. It probably doesn't warm up the body as much as a bath would but it probably does make you sweat (hard to tell since the water washes it away). A little lavender essential oil mixed with an unscented liquid soap would also be nice.
Enjoy!

I don't have the UltraSimpleDiet book, but I'm very interested in the UltraBath that I've been reading about. What are the ingredients and basic plan for the UltraBath? Any help would be great.

The UltraBath is pretty simple. You use water as hot as you can tolerate. Ideally it should come up to your neck (my bathtub isn't that deep). You add 2 cups of Epsom salts, 1 cup of baking soda and 10 drops of lavender essential oil to the water. The recommended time is 20 minutes but some people need to start with a shorter time (maybe 5 minutes) and work up. If you want to enhance the effect, you can get out of the tub and go get under the covers in your bed for another 20 minutes (you don't need to rinse the bath salts off but hopefully you'll dry off enough first that you don't end up with a wet bed) . I've been putting on some soft music and enjoying a rubber ducky (from a hotel I stayed at in San Francisco) and the curiosity of my two cats while I bathe.
Enjoy!

Frances,
Thank you for the recipe, I also received it from Chrismarsh. My family and I have enjoyed taking the UltraBath. I shared it with my daughter when she came home from softball practice a little sore. It helped her tremendously. My husband has even enjoyed a few. Not only are we more relaxed, but the house smells great too.

Baths in Japan

Hello Chrimarsh,
I never tried a clay bath, however baths are taken very seriously in Japan. First you wash your body or at least rinse it before going into the tub. There are many hot springs and they are very good for detoxing or certain conditions. What is the rage here now is hot pepper baths. Your body heats up quickly and sweats but does not irritate the skin. Also, germanium and dead sea salt baths are popular. I saw a program where doctors said that after a quick soak, you. Sorry, forgotten why. Also, rubbing your body with salt and sitting in a sauna is a good way to get the toxins out of the body quickly.
I plan to enjoy my Ultra Bath tonight.
