I thought it might be a good idea for us to share some ready-made foods that are OK to have.  Time seems to be the biggest issue for a lot of us.  Sometimes we just need something to zap in the microwave or something to grab a handful of on the way out the door.  And, instead of Cheeto's and Hershey bars, here a few things I've found.  I live in Northern California, so I don't know where these are available in other parts of the country, so I'll just put in parentheses the name of the store(s) where I get them.
Mary's Gone Crackers -- These are organic snack crackers made entirely of whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, flax seeds) and herbs (no added oils or fats and are wheat and gluten free) and are amazingly tasty. Dip them in salsa and they taste a lot like tortilla chips.  They come in original, herb-flavored, caraway and other flavors. I've found them at Raley's grocery, Whole Foods Market and other regular grocery stores.marysgonecrackers.com
Rice Expressions microwavable brown rice packets -- Each box contains three packets of organic frozen brown rice.  Three minutes in the microwave and it's ready.  I live on this stuff.  Just quickly stir-fry some onions and mushrooms or whatever else you like and pour on top of the rice with a little lo-sodium soy sauce.  (I get this at Raley's grocery store, but Trader Joe's also sells their own brand).
Trader Joe's Soytzel Soy Stix -- Fat and crunchy soy pretzel sticks.  DOES contain wheat flour but very satisfying between meals.  (Trader Joe's)
Trader Joe's Flaxseed Tortilla Chips -- Great with salsa, lots of fiber and protein. (Trader Joe's)
Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness bottled juice puree -- This stuff looks awful but tastes great and is loaded with phytonutrients.  Made of fruits, vegetables, even blue-green algae, spinach and Jerusalem artichoke (don't worry -- you don't taste it -- it tastes like a fruit smoothie).  A meal in a bottle.  Many other flavor blends available.  (I've found this in almost every grocery store, but it is sometimes in the produce section).bolthouse.com
Also, don't forget organic cashews and almonds for a quick snack.  I love to eat one nut and one grape simultaneously for a crunchy/juicy burst of flavor.
I'd be interested in other people's healthy snack finds, so add a comment to this post!

Thank you for those terrific ideas.  Especially the frozen brown rice.  I didn't know there was such a thing.

Annie, I just discovered Mary's Gone Crackers at our local health food store here in NH.  I was amazed by how good they are!  I ate some hummus with a few for a snack today.  Mmmm.

Also found some Belgian Chocolate at WalMart that is 70% cocoa and not expensive at all.  Looks like their Sam's Club brand.  Even though it says a serving is four pieces, I savor one and am totally satisfied.

Thanks for sharing the frozen brown rice.  Never knew it existed either, GGLOBE.

I keep Lara Bars for snacking on the go.  They are all natural - just nuts, dates, and fruit.  Read the label on them, I've never seen anything with such simple ingredients.

HUGE FAN!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Haven't heard of any but Mary's Gone Crackers. Mostly I made the nut and blueberry mix in the recipes for phase I in the book. I eat a small handfull with fruit for a snack. It is REALLY expensive to make - avoiding cornsyrup in the blueberries is a feat - but the good part about that is the frugal me  doesn't overeat the trail mix. this is good. Thanks! l

I Love the Mary's Gone Crackers...they have such a nutty flavor.  We also keep the Larabars around for a quick snack when we're out.

I discovered Blue Diamond Nut-Thins crackers too.  They come in several flavors but they're gluten-free and more readily available than the Mary's Gone Crackers for me.  Kroger stocks these in the natural food section.  Rice cakes and hummus with a few baby carrots is my standard morning snack at work
