I just joined and am looking forward to learning new things about staying healthy. I have ben an IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) sufferer for years and fortunately I discovered that lots of fiber was the answer to my woes. My husband and I try to eat well with lots of fiber (but never enough fruit) and low fat, and he has actually started controlling his cholesterol with red yeast rice instead of Lipitor. We have alos found that flax seed is a wonderful addition to our diet and helps control blood pressure.

I also wanted to add that fiber is a fantastic way to conrtol weight. That and lots of water.
