I am currently in the Prep Week (Day 1) and when it states we have to cold turkey sugar and white flour - does that mean looking at ingredients on everything and if it lists sugar we can't have it? So what's the difference in "prep" week and the "actual" plan weeks?
Will we EVER get to have something sweet? I guess just fruit (berries) right? What about apples, applesauce, bananas (these are all "Mother Nature" products).
....just trying to learn....

good question

Hi There! Sounds like you need to read the book, you need to try and avoid REFINED sugar (white sugar, high fructose corn syrup etc etc) and any artificial sweetners. I have not done the USD (only UM) but I'm sure that it is a similar approach. The prep week is to get you to be aware, break habits etc - some people find it hard, some do not. Fruits and natural sugars that have not been processed are fine in moderation (a balance of fat/protein/carbs).
Good luck!
