Hello Everyone!
Well, I made it through Day 1 and I feel pretty good. I feel about the same as I usually do except that I have a slight headache from the caffeine withdrawl and I did think that my tummy was a little flatter in the evening.
I just need to stay positive and motivated. I really want to change myself. I have felt horrible for a long, long time. I don't take care of myself and I am often depressed.
I hope to meet others on this journey to change and hope to be able to chat with anyone looking for support/motivation.
Good luck to those of you on the plan!
Tami

I too have felt bad for a while

I started today, Tuesday for similar reasons. Body aches and mild depression for too long. Just want to feel better so I can exercise more effectively. Also to get more done.
Look forward to hearing your progress and congratulations on making it through Day1!!!!
How did you do on your first day?

Hi, I hope you did well on your first day. It sounds like you are still in fairly good shape, you seem to have been a person to exercise. I would try and would end up only working out one day per week. I was on low carb diets for at least 7-8 years, and I think that is where my downfall came from. I have felt tired, depressed, and so many other negative things for many years and I just want to get back to my old self that I was years ago.
I look forward to hearing how you did on your first day. Day 2 actually seemed easier to me than Day 1. Keep in touch!
One day down!

Hi Tami,
My first day went pretty well, seemed like I was cleaning dishes and cups all day! Felt pretty good all day and so far so good today! What about you?
My exercise has been in fits and starts. I used to be in good shape all the way into my late 30's. I am now 47 so the last 6-7 years have been difficult fitness wise. Mostly due to injury, excess pain in joints and muscles and slow recovery. I have never watched my diet so I think poor eating has led to poor health. I am about 10 pounds over where I want to be (short at 5'4" so 10 is a few sizes) so my main goal is feeling better - less slugish and fatigued and yes, less depressed!
I bet low carb really messes with your energy levels. Maybe you can get to a new level of health and feel more like moving around for longer periods. I have trouble with walking - I'm always thinking it's a waste of time but it is what I plan to stick with for a while until I am fitter. That way I won't injure myself!!
Let me know how you are feelig today or tomorrow! Here to eating right!
Laurie

Hi Laurie,
Glad to hear you made it through Day 1 fine. How did Day 2 go? I got a chuckle out of saying there were lots of cleaning dishes/cups, I've been thinking the same thing. At least you only have to lose 10 lbs. I am in much worse shape at 41 needing to lose at least 35 lbs, but I would like to lose more (wishful thinking!).
I did good on the Suzanne Somers program once and lost 40 lbs but have long since gained it back. Now I just want to focus on feeling better and getting healthy and hopefully lose my weight in the process. Have you read UltraMetabolism too? I like to foods you eat. It reminds me of my favorite book "The Truth About Beauty" by Kat James, I love, love, love her book. But I really love this program as well, its all about being healthy.
I'm sure any kind of exercise you do can't hurt you. But if you don't like walking try and find something you do like. I have a recumbant bike at home I use and watch tv at the same time or look at a book/magazine.
Let me know how you are doing so far. I am feeling pretty good today (Day 4) but I am still craving some bad for me foods, but I am being good of course. I know this will all pay off if I stick to it. I lost 3 lbs the first day, then gained 1 back the 2nd and lost one again on the 3rd, I hope to lose more though, but slowly but surely is best I know.
Think positive, and keep up that willpower!
Tami
