I found a few things could use some tweaking:

 1.  Recipes in the PDF guide:  Please group these in order by Salads, Soups, Main Entrees, Salads.  Additionally, please indicate for snacks, dinner, breakfast, chicken recipes, salad recipes, etc....  Also, it would be great if you included freezing instructions for those of us who need to make it ahead and will always have a healthy meal in the freezer.  Also indicate on freezing the bean salads. I'm sure your chefs could easily provide some good info using tupperware or vacuum sealing then freezing.

Also on the recipes, the formatting of the recipes made it difficult to read the quantities.  So, putting the amount first, then the ingredient would be much better.  So instead of salt .......tons of space............1/4 tsp.  It would be 1/4 tsp sea salt.  I had a lot of difficulty reading the recipes when I was cooking. Especially being slighly woozy during the 7 day cleansing period.

 2.  During the 7 day washout period - I think extra Vitamin C was needed, all throughout the day for more severe detox reactions as well as napping. Granted you don't want to scare everyone, but its quite a transition when you are under chronic stress and are eating allergens. I actually used the chewables Orange Juice Jr, and used Stevia and Xylitol in the green tea to ease the absence of sugar.  I would recommend starting portions of the program duirng the 7 days.  Like yoga 2-3 x weekly.

 3.  Broth - I'd include substitutions where people can't find Daikon, etc...   I'd also include a recipe ALREADY multiplied for cooking the whole pot for the entire week.  So, for example,  Use a 23 quart pot.  Fill with 2 gallons and 1 quart of water.  6 carrots, 1 head of cabbage, 1 1/2 cups of seaweed, or 4 long strips of kombu, etc... It took a lot of time for me to figure out the recipe was only for a few days. As I rarely, if ever make broth, this was critical to my success.

 4.  Protein powders - I don't do well with Rice, but I do do well with bean protein powders. I'd include some other powders.  I found Olympian Labs
Greens Protein 8 In 1 to be extremely useful.  My body doesn't react well to rice.

It might also be good to make a note that you can make both shakes in the morning and take them with you. You can also freeze shakes in mason jars and carry for long trips.

On the instructions for the shakes:  I'd recommend people try out the various recipes during the 7 day period so you know which type you like, or can easily make and/or shop for.

5.  Brown rice versus corn.  Again my body preferred corn and beans to rice. I used grits/polenta versus rice at meals. I've been eating tremendous amounts of rice flour products and white basmati and my system gags when I consume rice presently.

6.  Create a list that includes enhanced supplements as well as the recommended daily ones to prevent confusion. The supplement chapter was the most confusing and then figuring out how to integrate it into the UltraSimple Daily guide.  So, this would be a 3rd checklist that outlined the enhanced with the supplements.

That's it. I greatly appreciate all the free resources and webinar, etc...

It would be great if there were more video clips of Dr. Hyman speaking on various topics. I found that to be super motivating and clarifying, and a wonderful adjunct to the book.  Thanks for all the work you've put into this.

I agree

You've got some great suggestions, especially regarding the recipes.  I was thinking the same thing about the ingredients list.

Also, it would be helpful if there was more detail in the recipes for those of us who know nothing about cooking.  For instance, I made the broccolini last night and the instructions said to "julienne" the poblano pepper.  I have no idea what this means.

"Julienne" means to cut into

"Julienne" means to cut into very thin strips.  Wikipedia or google could help you there.

Right, but it's not always

Right, but it's not always convenient to go boot up your computer while you're in the middle of making dinner.  I'm just saying that it would be helpful to have more clear instructions in the recipes.  This is supposed to be ultra-simple, after all. :)

To me, these recipes are

To me, these recipes are ultra-simple, julienne or no julienne.  And the instructions are very clear.  So I think it depends upon whether you know how to cook or not.  Look at it as an opportunity to learn a little about the rapidly losing art of cooking!

I agree, the recipes

I agree, the recipes themselves are simple.  It's the way they are written that could use some improvement, especially the way the ingredients are listed.

Your Rice Issue

I'm curious about your rice issue.  I've never known that to be a sensitive food.  How do you react to it?

I'm past the USD week and am just simply trying to eat better - not quite into an Ultrametabolism phase yet.  I've tried to stay off dairy and wheat, and am using dairy and gluten free soy protein powders.  My allergies have been bad lately (hay fever).  Do you think there's any correlation to my ingesting soy?  Do you have issues with soy?
