Halfway through and feeling great!

Halfway through the first week and wow, what a difference a few days can make! No hunger. No bloating. No mood swings. Already I sleep better and have more energy, and didn't need allergy meds despite being outdoors and cleaning a dusty garage.

If my scale's to be believed I've lost 4 lbs. in three days, but my scale's not as accurate as the electronic one at the gym.

I started on a Thursday, which was planned to coincide with my husband leaving town and therefore having the house to myself for a few days.

I anticipated food cravings -- or at the very least, wistful longings every time I hear the ice cream truck on my street -- but haven't had any. I can now stare down potato chips; they have no power over me. And I don't have to force myself to make an effort. That in and of itself has made the USD worthwhile. If I didn't know better, I'd think there was an appetite suppressant in that rice powder...

The worst side effect so far was some fatigue on day 2. Felt better after a nap. By day 3, I had plenty of energy.

Will report back at the end of 7 days...

That sounds thrilling! I,

I, too, lost my cravings for sweets since I started! I'm going to call my first week the "prep" week, since I didn't lose anything but my cravings!  This week I am on it for real.  Will Get back to you on Monday, July 2nd.

I had a great first week

I had a great first week too.  I lost 8 pounds but it was a tough week.  I'm almost done with my second week but haven't weighed in yet.  I only weigh in once a week.  The one problem I'm having is my cravings for sweet.  I have a really hard time with my urge for after dinner dessert.  I would have a pudding or a cookie and I don't think that will go away.  Oh well.

The second week, at least for me, has been so much better.  I've had so much energy and the overall flu like feelings are gone.  Hang in there, it gets better and better!

I have never thought of apples as a dessert, but I do now.

Fuji apples have been my saving grace these two weeks.  They are so sweet so they too have become my dessert.  Before this diet I would slice up a fuji or gala apple and dip it in organice vanilla yogurt.  The yogurt itself isn't that sweet because it doesn't have added sugars or artificial sweeteners so the sweet apple perfectly complemented it.  This was usually my mid-morning or afternoon snack but it'll become my dessert once I'm back on dairy.  Until then though the apples are doing the job just fine!
