I just want to share my own eperience with the UltraSimple Diet and hope it will encourage anyone who is considering it for themselves.
I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and have been on synthroid since 1998, which has brought my TSH within the "normal" boundaries but not made much improvement in my symptoms. In 2003 I was diagnosed with glucose intolerance and last year I started on medication for my blood pressure. This is in spite of daily exercise and a careful diet. I had just about given up hope until I read about the UltraSimple Diet.
I followed it and lost 13 pounds in one week. I also gained energy and a much greater sense of wellbeing. That was one month ago. I have continued with the shake and broth since then but have expanded the types of food I'm eating. To date, I've gained back one pound. That, for me, is exceptional!!
I wanted to give myself time to stabilize and ensure it wasn't water loss and it appears that my setpoint has readjusted. I'm about to start another week of the UltraSimple Diet and look forward to more weight loss.
If you've been thinking about giving it a try, I recommend it highly!

My cousin has Hashimoto's.

My cousin has Hashimoto's. What about your symptoms? I would be interested in hearing more about how the diet affected those than the weight loss. She also has Sjogren's and if she got some symptom relief I know she would be interested in hearing about that rather than the weight loss.

I haven't been on the diet long enough to realize any of the long term symptoms like a reversal of my thinning hair, but I definitely found I had increased energy. What I discovered is that I have a lot of food alergies. I gather that the UltraSimple Diet restricts your diet to foods that aren't likely to produce alergic reactions. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease. Perhaps the food allergies caused the food alergies or vice versa. I don't really understand how eating certain foods can prevent me from gaining weight but that seems to be the case.
Your cousin should give it a try and see if it helps her too.
By the way, the Ultra Bath is a really important aspect too.
Thanks for the info. The

Thanks for the info. The things that plague her are dry mouth and eyes that are either too dry or too watery. She also has fatigue too, but I was looking for someone who had symptomatic relief from the first two as those are the ones that bother her the most. She has not been interested in trying as it is so restrictive and there is no way she could afford to buy the prepared meals but I thought if I found someone who had gotten relief with the things that bother her the most that she might be more open to making some dietary changes. Thanks anyway.

I was wondering where your cousin lives. If she is in the Bay Area (San Francisco, Oakland) there is someone who can actually prepare the foods and it costs alot less to buy the ingredients yourself. Just a thought...
I had read about that person
