Mercury Toxic

If you have one filling in your mouth or in the mouth of someone you love you have to watch this video http://iaomt.org/videos/ I have suspected that I have toxic mercury levels, but was not highly motivated to occur the expense of having work done on the multiple teeth that have fillings and crowns in my mouth. I have had problems for as long as I remember. My first memory of the dentist was a slap across the face, literally he slapped me because I cried for my Mom. Now I find he did more than just emotional damage. It makes me want to spit nails, oh that would make things worse? I just hope I can make a payment plan with a dentist and doctor to detox my body and mind. Maybe an attorney can help?

OMG, what a horrible

OMG, what a horrible dentist memory! I had 2 metal fillings removed this past summer and have 1 more to go. I didn't go to a biological dentist like I should have because of insurance. I hope it didn't make matters worse, but I figure better out than still in:) I want to have a mercury test done but don't know if insurance will cover it or I'll just have pay out of pocket. The thing is, if I do have high levels I have to find a doc to help with chelation, no? I received and started reading The UltraMind Solution, I'm sure it covers more info on this. I'm still waiting for the diet book to get that started, I think they lost my order!

Do you believe my daughter's dentist had me sign that I knew they used alagram fillings, I though it can't be mercury because they knew the dangers. Turns out they are alagram mercury fillings, I'm pretty pi...... My ignorance is no excuse, but this was just a few years ago that film is from 1995.

To answer your questions, if it is only three, yeah, I would rather just have them out then not. You should get tested, but in the UltraMind Solution Dr Hyman does discuss getting your body prepared for the heavy metal detox, by preparing your body. I had a similar discussion with one of my contacts at my health food store and she suggested starting with other cleanses too. I have a filling or crown in almost all my molars and a few others. If you watched the whole film they were most likely small cavities that could have been filled with a small amount of resin, but they removed most of the tooth and I have continued to have problems over the years with chipping.

You can start the diets by just eliminating the sugar and caffeine and adding tons of whole foods. You could actually just do the UltraMind Solutions plan and lose weight. It will be amazing how easy it comes off when you eat a good balance of protein, carbs and fats and add a moderate level of exercise. I have lost 23-24 doing a loose version of the UltraMetabolism plan. I know if I get focused and do the new plan fully for the 6 weeks I will lose a minimum of 1-2 pounds every week.  It feels good taking the weight off slowly and keeping it off over the holidays shows that the fundamentals work, even with my excessive splurge. However my brain did feel the effects and it was not good. Best of luck to you, actually it is not luck but a determinism that you'll need. Like choosing my supplements over cable.

Amazing that they had you sign a form about the amalgam (mercury) fillings. they must be anticipating a huge tobacco-type lawsuit rush coming when the truth comes out for good! One day. I don't know if I did more harm by not cleansing first, it sure hasn't helped me removing the 2 so far, 1 to go. I received the Ultramind book last week, am half way through. It is confiming many of my theories about our familial Alzheimer's especially the fact that we may be missing a gene that helps detoxify mercury and other toxins. I must get a test soon. Should I just order it? Do stores have them? Insurance cover? I have to check into this an dfind a good doc.

I ordered the USD book 3 weeks ago, it must be lost. I emailed, but will call tomorrow. I am anxious to prepare and start it. Only problem I have is that if I could just dump the sugar (white carbs and caffeine are much easier for me, I don't need them), I'd be half way home. It's worse than an alcoholic eliminating alcohol, it feels that severe to me. I can go about 5-6 days MAX and then feel like I have to give in and do. I need to check on possible yeast or parasite problems. I just wonder if docs will listen to me about it and check. Last doc told me it was an unfounded theory (yeast). The recent doc gave me a prescrip. and referrals, never re-checked thyroid or anything. I hope switching from hmo to ppo helps this year too.  I wish I could just forget about the insurance and conventional docs and find a natural pracitioner but it's pretty costly and do-it-yourself doesn't always work. Ah well, baby steps, right?

Since you seem like a very well informed person on the health venue. I'll assume you have checked the functional medicine doctor's list and would have to travel 90 miles like me. You are probably looking for someone close to home. Although I may try a co-op with my local doctor and one of the functional docs. I actually found someone who is a nurse practitioner and works under a doctor. But she is open to suggestions and I saw her at the health food store. How cool is that, I even got free advise that day.

Anyway, print your list of doctors on your plan that are close to you and start dialing. I asked to speak to the nurse and asked a variety of questions. If they didn't know or were not helpful, I moved on. Try to focus on the DO's first, since many of them have a little more holistic approach to medicine. I did find a good one, but I wanted to focus on bio-identical hormones and he was not informed. If you can go out of network you maybe able to use one of the functional physicians, but pay a larger fee. I think the real savings, from my medical care last year, is in the testing discounts you receive through your insurance company. Certainly if your office co-pay is 30 instead of 160 that is a good savings. However, one group of blood work would have cost over 500 and after the reduction was less that 30. BIG SAVINGS$$$ My insurance company said I can go out of network and they will cover the cost of "medically necessary test", and most doctors know how to play that game.

One really good question to ask is how long is your first appointment. If they do not give you at least 30-40 minutes, say no thank you. I also let the schedulers know when I schedule return visits if I think I need extra time. This works surprisingly well. Another time trick, they will give you more if you have a notebook with a list of questions. You can almost feel them groan, but they will sit still (kind of) until you are finished. If you just can not complete your consultation in the allotted time, ask for another consultation visit you should be able to get one. One other question for your insurance company is how many "second opinions" are you allowed. I consulted with at least 7 doctors last year, of course some were specialist for my gallbladder, but I took advantage of my deductable being met. I also saw two different chiropractors, so 9.

One last tip, get copies of everything especially the lab work. I even have a copy of the gallbladder before and after, yuck! I joke that it looks like an x-rated picture that I wouldn't let my Mom see. However, the picture does give a clear external look at my liver which was helpful since I have a non-alcoholic fatty liver. The copies of blood work has been helpful when having other consultations and to avoiding multiples of the same test, which the insurance will not cover. One of my mottos recently is "Know thy self". Learn the lingo and understand your lab results. You will get better care. It is surprising how often I have heard, I don't know, because they know if they don't I will find out. That was a lot but I realize this is often the most frustrating part. I am hoping that the USA's health and wellness care will change with the new president. It is a jumbled mess so lets keep our fingers crossed.
