Detoxifying broth

Does anyone have a recipe for the detoxifying broth that is in the Ultrametabolism book? The book has a list of vegetables you can use and when I made it I chose a bunch of veggies I thought would work well together, but it ended up tasting terrible. Does anyone have a good combination and quantity of veggies that tastes half-way decent?

Doing the UltraSimple Diet
Hi, I've been on the USD since 1/18 and so have made a few batches of the broth. I really love it(it reminds me of miso soup)and it takes away my mid-morning and mid-afternoon cravings. This is what I use:
1 onion
2-4 stalks celery (depending on size)
2-4 carrots
1-2 cups loosely packed,chopped kale
1/2 to 1 rutabaga, 1 inch chunks
1 daikon
3 cloves garlic, peeled
a few slices of fresh ginger
cilantro, chopped
wakame-2-3 strips and sea salt to taste
Bring to a boil,then simmer for a few hours.
