I just got my lab results back and am bummed. Cholesterol levels are: LDL-185 & HDL-75 for a total of 276. My doctor wants to put me on Antara because I have an elevated liver reading which Lipitor would exaserbate. I would like to try and control this naturally and am wondering what I should do. I'm a 53 y/o female. Could probably loose about 10 pounds.

Although I haven't had a fasting cholesterol test, since I wasn't trying the USD for that particular reason, I did donate blood after being on USD for 5 weeks. My total cholesterol went from my typical 162 to 133! I was amazed.
Give USD a try, ask your doctor for a month to turn this around, and see what a month of eating whole foods and drinking clean water & green tea can do for your cholesterol and liver. The 10 pounds will disappear once your healing begins.

Doing the UltraSimple Diet
My husband had high cholestrol when I went on this diet. He did not do the lemon juice and supplements only a Men's multivitamin. But he did eat the same food as me. Lunch he had chicken salad as on the USD you can not have lettuce but his cholestrol went from 230 to 180 I read somewhere that a high fiber diet will bring down cholestrol so we had a lot of the bean recipes and the brown rice. It seemd to work for him. I wish you luck in bring it down naturally.
Good Luck!

Your husband's results sound encouraging. I am on day 3 of the USD and it has not been as difficult as I had thought so I'm optimistic that I can continue. Hopefully the recheck in a month will show better numbers. Thanks for the info.
