What does Dr. Hyman think of Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome?

I tend to have lower than normal energy and have been seeking ways to improve that. One that I tried before with mixed results was the Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome treatment in which I ingested T4 (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone or TSH) at 12 hr intervals while bringing my base metabolism up to 98.6 (it had been in the 97's).

Part of the attraction, at least conceptually, is that Mercury toxicity (I had dental amalgams from childhood until about 2002, when I replaced them) can inhibit TSH when a Mercury atom takes the place of a normal (Iodine?) atom in the T4 and makes it a T3 (inactive)).

Supposedly this treatment is useful to help clear the tissues of inhibited T3 molecules and replace them with T4.

I'm wondering if Dr. Hyman thinks that WTS treatment might be a good complementary approach for people whose metabolic rates may be toxin-impaired?

Yes, Dr Hyman is familiar with this information and discusses in detail
in his newly released guide The UltraThyroid Solution.

I highly recommend this resource and the plan that he outlines re: thyroid evaluation and treatment.
