Does anyone know if there is an acceptable sweetener for the herbal and green teas? I already drink these, but if I am going to give up the Splenda for this, is there anything I can use?

It takes about a week of not using any kind of sweetner before you start enjoying the tea without it. Its best if you don't use any kind of sweetner but if you must, I have used Stevia or Agave Nectar but not at all during the first week of the detox plan.

As I write, I am enjoying an iced raspberry tea sans sweetener but with a splash of freshly squeezed lime. Your taste buds will adapt to the refreshing taste of tea without any added sweetness, so hang in there! If you absolutely must use a sweetener, go natural - honey (although I am concerned about our bee situation!), or agave nectar are my favorites. We have more to learn about stevia so I do not recommend it.

Thank you for your input -- I learned years ago to drink iced tea without sweetener, but the herbals and green tea have always "seemed" to have a slight bitter edge, but then again I used to think the same about regular iced orange pekoe, and now I would never sweeten it!
I did think about honey -- what concerns are there about it?

Honey is a natural sweetener that has been with us since the dawn of humankind and has been studied by scientists for its functional constituents including prebiotic value (feeds the good bacteria in the gut), etc. so yes, a touch of honey would be ok.
