I have about 20 pounds to lose and have completed 4 weeks of the UltraMetabolism program.  I lost 1.5 pounds the first week, and have remained the same since then.  I never did the broth, and am not using the menu plans, just eating the recommended  foods, watching portions (trying to just eat enough so I am not hungry), and following the rules outlined in the book.  I am not exercising every day (have only been walking once or twice a week for 30 minutes), but do a lot of other activities during the day (cleaning, shopping, running around doing errands, etc.  I work at a school and start back to work tomorrow - then I'll be even more active, on my feet all day!). I also teach Tai Chi two nights a week, one hour classes.

I'm feeling kind of discouraged, and am contemplating trying the USD to get better results.  I might  just try amping up the exercise a bit first and see if that helps.

Wondering if I should try the USD?  Any suggestions or experiences to share ?

Try the enhanced USD. That may get things moving more for you. It also seems to be easier for most people to lose 10 lbs when you have 80 to lose, than when you only have 20.

The USD might flesh out something that you are allergic to that you've still been eating, and do try the broth. It has a lot of benefits beyond just helping you to fill up. It helps with the detox and calming down your system.

Give the program your 100% effort for one week and see if things don't change. Do all the suggested things like broth and exercise and bath... you may be surprised.

And remember this is about feeling better too, not just weight-loss (as I was reminded of today by TWO people lol). Make sure you notice that too.

Both of these plans have great merits and the health benefits are spot on. Since you said that you will be returning to work next week, I would wait a couple week before trying the USD. Most people experience at a minimum fatigue and often more severe symptoms from the detox process. However, you should be having a long weekend coming up for Memorial Day, if your in the US, that could give you time to deal with those symptoms. Your going to need all the energy you can get next week to deal with all those angelic children that are sooooo happy to be back to school, lol.

That being said, you could implement a few of the other techniques in the USD like food eliminations to check for allergens and drinking the broth to help with satiation. Also do try an add a little more exercise to your day, even if you just turn on some tunes and dance around while you do your house work. When school starts try to recruit a couple of partners to walk around the property a couple of times before or after school.

Another thing to consider is the 7 keys in the UM and how they may be effecting your overall results. You may need to spend some time evaluating them and adding some additional supplements to your routine and review them with your doctor.
