All Chicken Is Hormone Free

Contrary to what the general public may think all chicken is free of
hormones. It has been illegal to feed hormones to chicken since the
1970's. If you read the packaging on chicken that claims to be
"Hormone Free" it will indicate somewhere that ALL chicken is hormone
free. Taking the moral issues related to feeding hormones to
chicken out of the picture, there is no way for poultry producers to make a profit on the meat if they started feeding them hormones. In a good year poultry
producers only make an average of $1.60 per lb of white meat wholesale. My husband has a phd is Animal Nutrition with an emphasis in Poultry and has spent 10+ years doing research in this field. Do not waste your money on hormone free chicken.

Thank you for the info! I don't even know what to think about it as I have learned the oposite from so many other sources.

I am seeing chicken in my regular grocery as well as places like Whole Foods marked 'no added hormones by Federal law' so there must have been a really big controversy that I missed. But you still want antibiotic free and free range... I am amazed at how much better free range chicken tastes.
