Bonjour, I hope all these new aches and pains are the detoxing process results. Anyone else experience this? Recommendations? I'm on ultrasimple, day 4. Thanks in advance.

Bonjour Grosse, yes, the aches, pains, headaches, gas, and skin redness is all part of the detox process I think. Everyone seems to have experienced the tiredness, headaches, etc in some form or another. A clerk at our local health food store explained it the best when I asked her if she thought the very unusual (for me) skin breakouts were caused by the diet and she said the poisons have to get out someway--better on the outside than the inside. As a woman, I do not exactly agree with her philosophy! I think the worse thing was the crabbyness the first week. I warned by daughter not to start the diet unless she could have a day or two off work. Anyway, all that seems to have passed, we have been on the program for two months and have lost a good deal of weight, look and feel healthier, and am even down to my nornal level of "crabbyness." Your remark about French women getting fat is just reflected around the world with the introduction of so much fast food. Of course the french woman, no matter how fat, will always have that "Dior" edge. Bon Nuit(?) Mama Foodie

Thanks for your reply. Since I wasn't having headaches and am tolerating the oil drink, I thought I was doing remarkably well. I guess it has to come out somehow! Don't like seeing docs over here unless I HAVE to. I've lost some weight but... 5 pounds drops off fast and then NOTHING. That's typical of other diet attempts too. I was successful with Adkins years ago and kept it off 3 years. Now I can't get any result from that program.
I haven't done the yoga religiously. I am sleeping better which I hoped would help with the pain. But... I've not used my HRT patch in over 10 days and haven't had any flashes - now that's news! I'm convinced that if my liver is right, all is right. I'll keep plowing along. On my way to aqua gym (which is where I see my fellow fat french women!)
Merci encore, Grosse Vache (Fat Cow)

Hi, How to you say very slightly plump calf. You are definitely not a fat cow. At your weight I was still stopping traffic! Attitude, Attitude! I am doing the diet with my husband and son. My daughter is starting it--she lives quite a way from us--but finds it hard to do on her own. I am hoping the fact her brother has lost 60 pounds (of course he started much heavier than most) will encourage her. I have lost 32 pounds and considering everyone said I couldn't lose weight with all the meds I have to take is a small miracle. I want to do water exercises too, but just still a little cool here to motivate me. I do think it is the only way to stimulate the metabolism. We did not do the oil and lemon or tofu shakes. It was a deal breaker for the guys. They make the almond butter, banana and fruit shakes. We seem to be doing fine so far but I have reached a plateau and know that swimming would help. Well, it is 1:30 am here and need to get some rest--please help my french, it has been to many years since high school french classes. mama foodie

Bonjour Mama Foodie,
Congratulations on your success(es), that's terrific. I'm doing the plan nearly 100%. The lemon/oil thing isn't that bad - don't get me started on another plan with a lot of foul things to drink. I would do the vitamin C in capsules, given the chance. Not available in France and no one will ship vitamins. My weight might not sound that bad but.... I've been 130 most of my life. With the "pause" everything is going to heck in a handbag. Tomorrow is the 7th day. I'm thinking about following the extended one and then maybe reading the big book. My friend recommended this to me. I was just in the US for a little over a week and I was telling her my lack of support worries. French women DO get fat and yes, they have a flair but they also have a bad attitude about heavy people. For instance, I can't find any clothes to fit me here. I just found out I'm wearing a 14 in US sizes. It is a bit stressing. But.... I'm on track and moving forward. Stories like yours are motivating. bon weekend!

Bonjour petite, I do understand the problem. Every birthday reinforces the horror of gravity. The french are not alone, have you shopped in any upscale boutique in the US lately. I can't even shop for my relatives! You walk in and you get the "Pretty Woman" Snub big time "Obviously, you are in the wrong department/store." Yes, our department stores do carry missy sizes but the quality/style is non-exsistent "garbage" (and I always use a french accent with that word). You should try to find decent clothes for my size--I have to go to Omar the Tent Maker. My wish is to get down to your size. Yes, do get the UltraMetabolism Book--it seems to make things a little clearer and we go back to it often as a reference. We are taking the buffered C in tablet form and yes they are quite a horse pill. I can't remember if I looked for capsules when we bought this last bottle or not. Mama Foodie

Thanks for the support. I appreciate it. My sisters are all big girls so I'm not foreign to bigger sizes. My neice is morbidly obese. But, for the first time in her life, she's getting help so we're all hopeful. She is nearly immobile and is too large to be weighed except on a freight scale. I know comparing myself never really made sense. We had different fathers so I don't have any living family on my dad's side to know if anything was genetic about this explosion of weight for me. My knees, back, pocket book was not prepared for this and my mental health was suffering.
I must admit that today is the first day that I have felt great in a long time. Only 7 pounds total in the week and 5 occurred the first two days. But... I KNOW I needed to clear out the liver and I think that is the secret. the baths are great too. Giving myself time is a plus as well.
Good luck with your endeavors. I've got the book because the friend that recommended this late March, gave me both books. She beat her sugar addiction. So I think I'm gonna do the enhanced portion from the first book and then read and do the metabolism book part. Glad to hear it is working for you. I should have gotten the tablets - may that stuff is nasty to drink!
Merci pour votre aide et je promis de continue avec cette regime. BTW, someone here called me a fat cow once, that's why I took that name.

Hi GV, just checking in to see how you are doing. It is hard to remember exactly but I think we had a great first week, a slower second week, and then it picked up again in the third week. I didn't realize until I re-read your blog that you were drinking the liquid supplement--OMG--AARRG! I promise never to complain about my horse pills again. Keep in touch, Mama Foodie
