OK, I managed to drag out of bed and hit the elliptcal this morning for 15 min before getting ready for work. I figure if I can do that in the morning and after dinner during the week...and watch what I eat...I'll be able to get back on track and drop a few pounds.
What's your resolution?

Actually, I have't exactly made any resolutions. I know some I need to make. I need to make a more concerted effort to walk or exercise daily. I also need to make myself get back on the proper diet track.

Instead of New Year's Resolutions, let's think New Day Resolutions. Taking a few moments in the quiet and stillness of the morning to meditate on the day ahead with one simple goal in mind helps me.
Another option: A "walking meditation" is a wonderful way to start the day and for many of us who have problems with exercise inconsistency, exercising in the morning is the one sure way to make it happen.
To get back on track, create an Intention Card - write down why it is important to you to eat a healthy diet and exercise. List your reasons - whatever they are! It might be to feel better, look better, be more comfortable in your body, get back into that beautiful wardrobe, improve your mood, etc. and READ it every day, especially in your most challenging times (ex. late afternoon lows when you might want to reach for a sweet treat, nighttime if you are getting ready to nosh thru the night, etc). Staying connected to your Intention will help. Have a heart to heart with yourself as motivation lies within - let's AWAKEN it!!

Thank you, Kathie. Very nice. You've made good suggestions for two things that are key for me. I'm going to make use of your recommendations. They really fit for me and I appreciate it.

My Intention is getting back into my jeans comfortably! My boyfriend moved in with me last July and we got married 3 weeks ago...having a man around has put 10 pounds on me!
After living alone for 15 years, I'm now making dinner every night, exercising less, and enjoying a glass of wine more often than I used to. I'm doing better since the beginning of the year I just have to stay focused on those jeans!

The holidays were rough...gained about 5 pounds but it's melting off now. I'm getting back into my routine now.
