Wow, I just bought a Power Plate and for those that are not familiar with it, it's something that's not exactly new (they've been in use in Europe for years). It's vibration or exceleration training. I've only been using it for the past few weeks but really do think that my muscles are getting stronger from it. I'll know more in a few months but so far so good.

What is a Power Plate..

What is a power plate and how do you use it?  Until I read the post I thought it was a divided plate you use to portion out your protein, starches and veggies without weighing them Embarassed. (ROFL)   Now that I know it's used for exercise, I'm really curious to learn all about it.

I am entirely fascinated by this technology myself. I just recently learned about it too. What it is, is a plate that generates vibration and the concept is that it creates the much the same thing for your muscles that occurs when you lift weights. I was skeptical at first so I did some research and what I learned led me to believe that there is something to all this. I went ahead and bought a Power Plate but have since learned that there are many out there and it seems that a lot of people are becoming aware of it. I must say that this is well known in Europe. We just don't have a clue about many things in this country, sad to say.

I was really encouraged when I got a recent newsletter from the guy who wrote The Ph Miracle and he talked about it. He's so enthralled with it all that he has started selling a vibration platform himself. I have a lot of respect for that guy so it went a long way for me.

As I said, I have only been using it for a few weeks now but so far so good. Lots of the celebrities have them from what I heard. Madonna has one...guess that might explain why she looks so fit...who knows...I just thought it was worth looking into for myself.

Is this an expensive piece of equipment?  I'm going to have to check this out online.  What affect did it have for you?  I have a versaclimber, which is great for cardio workouts and I love using the elliptical...but those are both aerobic, and even though we have free weights, and I enjoy using them while on my big exercise ball, I'm always curious to learn about effective exercise equipment. I'm going to check it out.

Some of the higher end machines can be expensive. Now that so many are getting on the band wagon, I think that much less expensive models will be available. I bought the least expensive model from Power Plate and it was around $2,300.00. I have since found other models that are less but I wanted to be sure to get a machine that would help to strengthen my muscles. I'm not entirely sure which ones are best but I thought I was couldn't go wrong with a Power Plate since they've been making them for a long time. I do think that Dr. Robert Young is selling a model at the phmiracleliving site. I wish I knew more about all of it but what really caught my eye was the fact that these type of machines will help move lymph drainage. It also helps bone density and cellulite, not to mention help with muscle strength. Like I said, I have not been using it long enough to say definitely that it works but I suspect that it will as long as I use it the way I should. I guess you can say the same for any piece of equipment and it has not become a coat rack yet...lol. You should be able to find info about it if you google whole body vibration or the power plate website. This workout would be more equal to weight training and not aerobic exercise though.

Hi!  I did go online to the Power Plate website, but I'm going to take your advice and look at the other sites as well.  It sure looks interesting, and instead of buying an elliptical, maybe I'll find a power plate in my price range.  Thanks for all your help, and please keep in touch with me to let me know the kind of results you are getting.  There are some powerful testamonials on the Power Plate website!  I was really impressed.

Just keep in mind which type of exercise you are looking for cuz the Power Plate would not replace an eliptical I don't think. Wouldn't an eliptical be aerobic? Wheras the whole body vibration would be more equal to what is achieved when you lift weights. I think both types of exercise have merit but do keep that in mind. I think the best thing is to be able to combine both. If you have an exercycle or a treadmill, well then that would be your aerobic and the vibration plate would compliment that pretty well.

The reason that I opted for the power plate was that it was recommended by the people that do Esperanza Peptide treatment for MS. I have MS and can no longer do the type of exercise that I used to do like spinning on the bike and step class...those types of things. I was losing my muscle strength and thought that I'd be able to equal those things. I do like all of the things that it will do and think everyone could benefit from this for sure. I will see what I think after a few months using it and hopefully I will prove it to myself. I do a lot of research into alternative options because mainstream medicine really has nothing of value to offer me. Anyway, I'd be happy to answer any questions that you may have once you check into it and decide that it might work for you as well. I sure hope it's ok to post e-mails here. I'm intrigued by what I'm reading recently about pH.  I have a urine tester and am at the lowest range, meaning I'm highly acidic.  Do you buy any of the Super green products?  If so, will I be able to endure the taste?  My taste buds are weird - many vegetables actually make me gag.  I'm currently taking Nature Plus Source of Life (liquid) for a vitamin and I can take that OK, but other ones that I've tried that contain the grasses are very hard to swallow.

Oh, if you are interested in the whole Ph thing, you'd love that "Ph Miracle" Book by Robert Young. He is very interesting. It would compliment the UltraMetabolism book quite well I think. I learned so so much from him about the bodies Ph and how an imbalance in our Ph leads to disease. I haven't tried greens of any sort yet but certainly do think it's on my horizon as it makes so much sense for all of us. I bet you could add something to the liquid to make it more palatable. It's just too important to not do it I think. I've learned so much in that past years of reading all these great books.
