Doing the UltraSimple Diet
Hi Doreen:
If you're doing the UltraSimple diet, corn is eliminated as a common allergen, so I'm sure that includes popped corn.
Sorry!

Thank you Cat, I meant as a general question, not related to Detox or the Ultra Simple Diet, but more for a "healthy lifestyle" way of eating. I, personally, have no issues with corn but was unsure as to the popped versions nutritional value from the Ultrametabolism philosophy. It’s a great fill me up/take the edge off snack, but am I getting any bang for my buck so to speak.Does that make sense? Doreen

This is general medical information only. For analysis, diagnosis and prescriptions, consult your doctor or other medical professional.
Yes, you can include organic air popped corn if you are not sensitive to corn and you integrate it in as part of your carb budget as it does provide fiber, crunch and some nutrients. 3 cups popped is considerred "a serving"...

I've wondered about cooking organic popcorn with EVOO. Is that an option do you guys think?

Popcorn is a whole food

Popcorn is a whole grain, a whole food and is relatively healthy. My husband makes his spicy with olive oil and garlic and red pepper and other seasonings. I like mine plain plain plain! Air popped is best. Don't buy the bags - they have so many chemicals in them!
Also, try making honey popcorn cakes. Or,,,just drizzle honey (or agave) on some popped popcorn for a messy sweet-treat! hehe.
Remember - any WHOLE food is good. If you can't pronounce it - don't eat it. The less "ingredients"(ie additives) the better!
This is a great movie night treat.
Organic popcorn is important

Organic popcorn is important since corn is a GMO crop (genetically modified organism)- It is best airpopped and then spritzed with some olive oil and seasonings such as a touch of sea salt. OK for UM but I recommend that you wait until Phase 2.
