Hello,

I have both seasonal and food allergies.  The seasonal allergies, I am currently receiving shots for and the food allergies I have been tested for and done the elimination diet with.  I do have a lot of food allergies, ie. dairy, soy, cottonseed, (soy and cottonseed are in everything!!) oats, legumes, the leafy greens, sweet potatoes, garlic, some nuts, & some fruits.  I feel like this is very limiting when it comes to preparing meals, it is very challenging.  As a result of these allergies, I have already cut out 95% processed foods and I no longer drink coffee, tea, nor soda.  I do drink herbal tea in the morning, but it is a poor sub for caffeine!Cry

I have also cut back my meat intake to once a day and I have drastically cut my beef consumption, if I eat it now, its maybe once a week.  Right now, its chicken, fish, and occasional pork, and when I can get it, some wild game.  I try to eat a good portion of my veggies raw each day, which I don't mind, I've always liked raw veggies.

Before I even decided to try the Ultra-Metabolism challenge, I felt restricted.  How do I eat healthy when I cannot eat half of what should be good for me??  How can someone be allergic to the leafy greens??  It makes no sense.  When I eat them, I pay dearly for it though!  The Legumes are supposed to be good for you, lots of fiber and protein, how do I work about around that allergy??

I have managed to loose 34 lbs and I do not want to mess up what I've been able to accomplish so far.  I want this to be a permanent weight loss, but I am worried that I am not getting the nutrition I need.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kim

Sinus infection/allergies

I've had too many sinus infections in the last year that the doctor says has to do with allergies. I recently read that Konjac root (glucomannan) has been shown to help sinus inflammation. It also is supposed to be good for weight loss. I have never had a need to lose weight and in fact it's the opposite with me. I tend to always be trying to keep my weight up. How do I take the Konjac root, dose and times of the day, to see if it help my sinuses without it causing weight loss?

My main allergy are dust mites. The docor says that my blood work shows that my body is being accosted by allergens constantly. I'm living in a house that has construction going on and I can't afford to move to another place until it's finished. Besides removing allergens from your environment is it possible to retrain or boost one's immune response to not react allergically?

Thank You,
Suraya

I am allergic to yeast and mold.My allergies kept getting worse a the years went by.I finally went to a naturopath in WA. state who diagnosed I had very low stomach acid. I had been taking prescription acid blockers for years.Things improved somewhat, but it wasnt until I went to the Nevada Clinic that my food allergies began disappearing. That is in Las Vegas.

I am sorry I didn't read your post earlier.

I can completely relate to what u r going through, bcoz I too had the same problem a few months back.I said 'had',which means  I feel much better now.

I had food allergies to 65+ different foods:-eggs,corn,wheat,legumes .lentils, milk and diary ,nuts, some veggies, shrimp and meat and gluten grains and oh soy!!!!!

I followed the USD,but since with so many allergies I was on a severe elimination diet. But there is a better way.One day I ate cantaloupe ,and developed hives and I cried that day. Each day I was alleric to a diffeerent food.I thought I would die when I am out of foods to eat.and I am only 29.

Anyway, there is a cure for every disease in the world.you just have to take heart and beleive.

The condition I had was leaky gut syndrome, where the lining of my gut was weakened, and undigested food particles went through, causing the body to react to them as foreign particles. The enzymes in my gut becomes low due to the weak lining and food cannot be digested properly. So And if you do not do anything abt it,it keeps getting worse.

You have to take enzyme supplements. They are natural and have no side effects. To get a complete picture of this pls read http://www.enzymestuff.com/  and also her books Enzymes :go with your gut and its sequel. In my opinion this book should be named cure for food allery  with enzymes or something.I had a hard time finding this book bcoz it did not directly say that.

After reading the info in this book,I started on GlutenEase and Gold Digest by Enzymedica 1/2 hour before meals and following an elimination diet. You feel so much better after 1 week itself.slowly add small amounts foods back. The above brands are important, bcoz the other enzymes are not the appropriate dosage they are very low in protease,a key enzyme.

Now after several months I can eat eggs no problem without enzymes.a liitle bit of milk is also ok.nuts are fine too.I receoverd from all fruits and veggies except swt potato.grains, soy and wheat and lentils are still a problem, but i am working on it.

I would suggest you to follow the recoms on the book and start with a low dosage, then slowly increase. Also start with an elimination diet and slowly work your way up.I am sure you will see great improvements only in 3 months.

My doctor recently also gave me quercetin, but I havent started on it yet.It cools inflammation.let me know if you further need any assisstance.
