How should illnesses be treated? I have been having headaches and heartburn, but would like to know how to manage other conditions too.

Help for Stomach pain

Since I have a really sesitive stomach I had to find a natural way to deal with stomach pain and heartburn.

Dr Hymen has some recomendations for heartburn in his blog and one of the items is DGL, deglycrrhizinated licorice, which states that it is for soothing relief of the stomach lining and digestive tract. I had used this procuct in the past and had some left over. I chewed two tablets, not great unless you like black licorice, and my stomach ache calmed down within 30 minutes and it felt better all day. I needed a couple more for the heartburn I had on another day, which is caused by the onion and garlic, but my stomach has felt fine today.

I hope this helps someone feel better during the first few days while your stomach adjust to the diet. If anyone has some other tips please pass them on especially for pain. I'm trying to stay away from tylenol or advil, but I'm a sis when it comes to pain, although I have rode out the headaches this week.

This is general medical information only. For analysis, diagnosis and prescriptions, consult your doctor or other medical professional.

I think it is important that any condition including headaches and heartburn be evaluated by your health care provider to rule out acute causes for these conditions that may warrant medical attention.  That being said, a dietary trial of a whole foods elimination diet as outlined in the USD or Phase 1 UltraMetabolism along with some nutritional supplements that are personally recommended with the advice of a qualified nutritiionist is important.  Generic recommendations may help but only to a point.

If you would like phone nutritiional coaching/advice re: supplements, please call the UltraWellness Center at 413-637-9991 and we would be pleased to help you further.
