I have battling a Candida overgrowth for years - my doctor diagnosed it 2 years ago. What do you suggest as a course of treatment for this problem. I have been using a supplement called Marinda Supreme, but I still have symptoms. Thanks

This can be a difficult problem and in some individuals requires aggressive treatment. I am not familiar with the product you mentioned but there are some natural products which are a combination of herbs and botanicals and fatty acids such as caprylic acis that might suppress Candida overgrowth. However, often our docs prescribe anti-fungal medication.
Tricycline by Allergy Research Group may be helpful or Metagenics Candibactrin or Twin Labs Yeast Fighters.
You should be monitored by your health care provider after treatment to ensure that your regimen was effective. We use stool tests, urine organic acids and blood tests to monitor.

Yeast imbalance for me too

Just got my organic acids test results today, and I definitely have an intestinal yeast imbalance, along with a number of other issues. My doctor said these results could definitely explain why I continue to gain weight instead of lose. She is the one who recommended Ultrametabolism to me before I knew for sure about the yeast. Now, however, she says I will have to temporarily eliminate gluten, sugar and all "starchy" food items to help kill the yeast. She also has me on Diflucan weekly.
I've done some preliminary research, and it looks like some of the foods allowed in phase II of the UM program might be no-no's now: wine, unsweetened vinegars, dried fruit, fruit juices, peants & peanut butter, and more than three servings of fruit per day, just to name a few. Does this sound right? Any suggestions?
