Spring???

Spring looks like it might come! Tomorrow we have a day out with a nature walk - ahh.

I usually gain weight in the winter and then suffer for it all summer long. I admire thin people because they don't have to lug around the 70 extra pounds that I have. I think that life is easier when you are thin.

B almond butter on grain toast, apple, tea
S tea 2 small squares dark chocolate
L turkey on grain toast with mayo and lettuce, bean chips
S banana
D salad with beef, 3 wasa crackers

I know, deli turkey is not UM. I've got to work on lunches on the go.

This week is going to be tough because we have to wait for payday to get any real food shopping done - its just live on what we have till Thursday. I'm certainly not going to starve, I just don't want to get too far from UM. I did buy all the supplies for the chili - I can live on that!

I so relate to what you say about lugging around the extra weight.  I try not to focus on how much I have to lose because I can be overwhelmed by that number!  Surprised  Instead I take it in smaller increments - five or ten pounds- and make those numbers my goals.  I lose too slowly to think of how long it will take to get to the ultimate goal.  I was never good in math, but I do know that eventually it will all add up to 80, for me. Wink

Looking at your menu, I wonder, do you get hungrier when you eat a banana without protein?  I know I would!  If that happens to you, maybe add a handful of nuts as well.  Protein with every snack and meal helps keep blood sugar even and without that spike, it's easier to lose weight.

I have been warned by both Dr. Rivard, the naturopath I see, and Scott, the personal trainer who works with me that I can expect to either stall or maybe even gain a few pounds as I am building muscle with the training I started.  Sigh!  I guess I'll have to pay more attention to how much better my clothes are fitting so I don't get too discouraged.  

Glad to see you back on track!  Just paying attention to your choices, you're bound to be making better ones.  Keep it up!

Yes, when I'm in the insanity of it all, I tend to just grab and eat.  I really admire calm women who seem to have total freedom from being hungry, or stress eating.

I'm thinking of a very graceful yoga women I knew.  She just had her self composure at all times.  I can never imaging her just stuffing something in her mouth. Food was only taken in when there was time to give it thought, and peace and quite to eat calmly.
